International Seahawks Speak: Student Blog The student blog creates a supportive language-learning community and is a fun way to practice writing! The blog is shared by Grammar and Writing classes in Levels 2, 3 and 4. The students upload posts about different topics, and are encouraged to read each other's posts and make comments.
The ESL office is located on the 1st floor of the McLeod (S) Building, S-114, on the downtown Wilmington campus. The ESL program is designed for adults whose native language is not English. Classes are designed to serve the needs of those individuals who have no English skills up to those who are advanced in English.
Students Cape Fear Literacy Council (CFLC) provides free and confidential instruction to adults who have educational goals that are personal or academic.
Graduates of NC State’s English as a Second Language (ESL) programs help non-native speakers overcome linguistic barriers in their personal and professional lives. As the programs prepare teachers to bridge language gaps, they foster a global community abroad, across the state of North Carolina and on our own campus.
